Luma Brieuc is a self-taught henna-artist who has been practicing henna for over twenty years. She discovered she had a talent for this age-old art form, after coming across a book on traditional Indian henna designs while passing by a second hand book store.

Following that first encounter, she mastered her henna skills through countless hours of practice. Having the desire of sharing her passion for henna, in 2002 she decided to set up Lumanessence, which would be the first company in Montreal to provide a henna body art service.

Each henna design is created freehand by the artist who is known for her ability to improvise beautiful designs with ease, without needing to refer to any design books or predefined drawings.

Her talent and professionalism has enabled Luma to collaborate with numerous clients in the corporate (Hasbro, Bell, L’Oréal), artistic (Les Productions Feeling /Céline Dion, Cirque du soleil) and museum industry (MBAM, MAC).

Luma Brieuc is also a multidisciplinary artist. When she is not in her studio or in an event creating henna designs on clients, she can be found on a film set as a still photographer. You can discover her film set photography work on her website.
