Henna photo shoot with first male model

Around mid June, Luma had a first photo shoot with a male model for the upcoming Henna Photo Exhibition. When asked why this model was the first male to be photographed, she responded by saying: “It's more difficult to find men who agree to model for this photo project. Not every man is comfortable in his body or actually willing to “wear” a bunch of bold flowers henna design for almost 2 weeks. I suppose the stares from other men in the locker room can be disconcerting!”

Each photo session is a labor of love beginning with the creation of the design which can take up to 5 to 6 hours. Then comes the drawing of the design with henna which takes another 3 to 6 hours depending of the complexity of the pattern. Once the henna is applied, there is a waiting period of 48 hours until the colour has ripened to it's full darkness. Then the model returns to the studio for the photo session which can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
